Internship Description
Job Description: Facilitate activities, encourage campers in their own unique ways, and help out where needed at camp.
Requirements and Qualifications: You must be fun and energetic, and have a "can-do" attitude. You also have to be 18 years or older to apply. Benefits and Opportunities: Allaso Ranch provides its summer staff members with food and housing for the entire summer. Allaso Ranch pays its staff members a set amount every two weeks. The Executive Camp Director, Kevin Ballard, is a graduate from Texas A&M University. Not only does he have experience in running Allaso Ranch, but before accepting his position, he was working as the General Manager at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas. Mr. Ballard being an Aggie himself, has been of great benefit to me, this is because I am able to pick his brain about working at the Gaylord Texan, more about camp, and his time at A&M. Achievements: At Allaso Ranch I have learned not only new skills that benefit me in a future work environment, but also interpersonal skills that benefit me in my everyday life. During the first two weeks of training, I was trained and certified in CPR/AED, First Aid, and high ropes and low ropes challenge courses. One of the interpersonal skills and lessons that I have learned here, was to not bother with other people's actions. Learning to work with people who you do not mesh with is hard thing to do. Everyone one is different and everyone has their own way of completing tasks. As someone who likes to see everything done in a certain way, this is one of the greatest lessons that I have had to learn. |
